Quick answers to the things people ask most about USTAV.
What is USTAV?
USTAV is a festival planning and community management app. You can discover festivals, create groups, invite members, set a chanda amount, track who has paid and record group expenses with receipts.
Does USTAV collect or hold my money?
No. USTAV does not process, hold or transfer money. Payments are made directly between members using their own UPI apps. USTAV never collects your bank account number, card details, UPI PIN or banking passwords.
How do I sign up and log in?
Sign up with your name and mobile number, then verify it with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. OTP messages come only from the official number +91 96929 26869.
Who can use USTAV?
USTAV is intended for users aged 18 and above, or the age of majority in your region. You need a valid mobile number that belongs to you.
What is the difference between public and private groups?
Public groups can be found by other USTAV users, who can view basic group details and request to join. Private groups are visible only to the people you invite.
Does USTAV read all my contacts?
The contact list is read on your device only so you can search and pick people. Only the contacts you explicitly select, their name and phone number, are sent to the servers to deliver invitations. USTAV does not upload or store your full contact list.
Who can see my information?
Members of a group can see the group name, description, member names and activity. Admins, sub-admins and cashiers can also see member phone numbers, chanda status and expenses for that group. Your data is never sold.
Can I turn off notifications?
Yes. You can switch notifications on or off at any time from the Settings screen in the app or from your device settings.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes:
- Your profile, personal festivals and personal data
- Groups you administer, which are deleted for all members
- Your membership in other groups, with their admins notified
- Pending invitations you sent or received
Limited data may stay in secure backups for a short period, or longer where the law requires, and is then erased.
